50y mothers of small children not as rare

I don’t know the statistics, but I suspect there must be a significant trend towards older parents. I bet that 50 year old mothers of small children is not as rare as it once was.

Most of my peers are just starting to have kids now in their mid-30s, whereas when my parents married in 1970 at ages 27 and 28, they figured they’d better have kids quick since they were on the old side.
